Ross Dorkin

With a decade of experience as professional musician and 20 years of musical instrument performance and study, I have developed a practical and well established skill set in several different aspects of music making. I have formal training in music theory and analysis, composition and orchestration as well as extensive real world knowledge of commercial music production and performance as member of a successful pop band signed to a major international label (Island Records UK) and a full time internationally touring entity since 2013. I pride myself on my passion, sensitivity and attention to detail in all the projects and teaching I am involved in, and have thirst for knowledge and new musical experiences. Over the past few years I have been honing my skills as an engineer both in the studio and live, as well as being involved in artist development, production and mixing for several artists outside of my band-related and academic work. I have several years of experience teaching guitar, classical guitar, bass, music theory,compostion and production from primary school to high school and university entrance exam preparation. Happy to work from Royal Schools or Trinity syllabi, or any others. Can teach Protools, Ableton,Logic X and Sibelius to an advanced level.
